HPLC Column, RP C8 Octyl, Wide Pore, 5um, 4.0mm ID x 50mm Length, 300A. Cogent Brand. 1 EA. Special Order Item.
Additional Information:
Cogent RP C8™ Wide Pore HPLC Columns are designed for reversed-phase separations of larger molecules that require enhanced pore accessibility and efficient mass transfer. The stationary phase consists of a traditional octyl (C8) bonded ligand attached to ultra-high purity silica and is fully double end capped to minimize secondary interactions while delivering consistent retention and excellent peak shape. The 300 Å wide pore structure allows proteins, peptides, and other larger analytes to access more of the bonded surface area, making this phase well suited for biomolecule separations and other high molecular weight compounds.
68508-05P-4-3M is packed with 5 µm RP C8™ Wide Pore particles featuring a 300 Å pore size in a 4.0 mm ID x 50 mm length format. The short column length provides rapid analyses and reduced solvent consumption while maintaining excellent chromatographic performance. The wide pore architecture is particularly advantageous for proteins, peptides, and long-chain fatty acids that may experience restricted pore access in conventional 100 Å media. The RP C8™ chemistry provides lower hydrophobic retention than a comparable C18 phase while maintaining excellent selectivity for hydrophobic and moderately non-polar compounds.
The 4.0 mm ID format offers excellent compatibility with conventional analytical HPLC systems and is commonly used for pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and method development applications. The combination of low backpressure, fast analysis times, and improved accessibility for larger molecules makes this column a practical choice for both routine and research laboratory workflows.
